Cop some Style….

Yeah Yeah!

Many apologies on my belated posts TSG fans! A mixture of no internet connection, hangovers and a bout of flu are taking the blame.
So, Style Never Dies: The Scandalous Adventures of Erm One is on and poppin’ in the upstairs gallery right flippin now!
-Cheers to all who came out for the opening on Friday, real good of y’all!!!
As always, many beverages were bodied whilst Dillatron 9000 hit us up with some classic cuts on the wheels of veal. The night finally concluded after some terrible pool playing (more squid …

I stumbled across Carlos’ work whilst looking at some Fecal Face weekly competition submissions-his stuff is absolutely freakin awesome!
Be sure to check out his website to see some of the other amazing work he produces.
Here’s what Carlos has to say about his work……

You’re not from round here are you?

Howdy peeps,
Sorry I have failed to get photos of the Autumnal exhibition up online yet. Been a bit ill this week, so have been out of the shop for a few days. But I am back at TSG towers now and gradually getting up to speed again.
The prints will hopefully be up in the online store by the end of the day.
In the meantime- I have just added an awesome booklet produced by recent FCA graduate Lizzie Frost entitled, ‘You’re not from round here are you?’
This brilliantly funny booklet is …

Dale McCarthy

Another day closer to the opening of ‘Autmnal’, another artist to profile!
Today it’s the turn of mega talented Mr. McCarthy, who after traveling the globe beautifying many a clump of bricks has finally settled in Qatar.

Me and Dale go way back, he’s is the first person I painted a wall with many many moons ago. Give the kid a pen, pencil or paint and he will dish up something hella slick- hell, give him some macaroni, some glue and a bag of glitter and he wouldn’t disappoint.
I have plenty of …

Alex and George

What What!
Following on from yesterdays profile of David Shrillinglaw, today we are showcasing the superb talents of another two artists involved in our forthcoming exhibition, ‘Autumnal’ .
Ladies and Gentleman, Alex Higlett and Georgina Hounsome….

Alex studied illustration at Bath Spa university and is currently working freelance. She mainly produces work through drawing, painting and printmaking, but I also likes to make things and publish zines.

Her work is narrative based and focusses on people; interesting characters and their stories and backgrounds.
Georgina also studied at Bath Spa university and left with a BA …

David Shillinglaw
‘David illustrates a chaotic exchange between individuals and their tactile environment, exploring ideas of identity and the riddle of the human condition. Much of the work includes representation of the human …

Thumbs Up!

Whats crack-a-lackin!?!
Last week my good friend Big Dave came down with his girl and copped a bit of quality time in Pastyland, before they go jet settin’ it off on a round the world trip.
I am sure I have posted up before about Big David (aka Enlish) and his super emcee abilities around valentines day. But if you never saw the post-the kids got more hot spits than a medieval hog roast.
Anyways, I need not continue on how flippin dope he is, as Big Dave has put up a link …

Alright me beauties!
Just wanted to lay down a quick post to brag about all the flippin ace things we have coming up for y’all in the next few weeks…
I know a whole bunch of you have been in a state of despair after the lack of show in the upstairs gallery this month. Unfortunately, I was without a studio space and so was Haacht so we had to use the upstairs to get our paint on for a short while. Sorry bout that….
But dry them weepy eyes people! Because it’s …

Sam Bassett @ Orchard Gallery

Local illustrator, and thoroughly nice fellow Sam Bassett, is currently exhibiting his new show ‘Truth had a Baby’ at the Orchard Gallery in St Ives.
Born in St.Ives (1982) Sam went on to study at Falmouth College of Arts and The Arts Institute Bournemouth. Over the past year he has been working on pieces both in London and back in Cornwall.
Sam’s real excited about exhibiting the newly concocted paintings and constructions he’s been working on up at …
